Thailand Day 8 – Side Streets and fishing villages

Day 8 – 7th October 2018

Prachuap Khiri Khan to Ban Krut

Today we had the best scenery starting out leaving Prachuap as we entered this Air force base where you are required to have a copy of your passport and sign in as you enter. The Air force base was very reminiscent of the oil and gas compound we used to live except it was right of this beautiful coast line. There were loads of Thai folks swimming, eating, drinking and enjoying the place. We had breakfast at this “outdoor” food court then hit the road.

I had downloaded this new app in the morning that leads us down about 20 km’s of these mountain biking paths. With our bikes, they weren’t ideal for cycling but very pretty. We saw an incredible fishing town and this awesome guy taking a nap on the beach in this motorbike / tuktuk !!!!!

We then headed to highway 4 for about 30 km’s before we veered off to the side roads for another 25 km’s to finish up the trip at Ban Krut.

We finish the day pretty beat with 76 km’s….ended up at this very cool hotel on the beach where we had a great seafood dinner with Thai kids singing Karaoke. Today the side streets and the trails made for long cycling day with about 7 hours, or so, on the road. Wouldn’t trade it for highway cycling though Its way more fun….
